Quickchannel delivers high quality streaming experience with Akamai’s sophisticated edge platform.

Stockholm, 14th June, 2021 -Quickchannel, a provider of high performance online streaming and recording services, has today announced a new partnership with Akamai Technologies, an international content delivery network (CDN) and cloud service company, following increased customer demand for broadcasting large scale live events to global audiences.

As a highly distributed platform of servers that minimises delays in loading web and video content, a CDN allows users around the world to view the same high quality content without slow loading times.

Viktor Underwood, CEO at Quickchannel, says: “A reliable enterprise video streaming solution is no longer a luxury but a necessity, especially in a time when users have become accustomed to the high quality experience they receive on services such as Netflix and Prime. The pandemic has only increased the pressure to be able to deliver flawless streaming of webcasts, team meetings, leadership summits and virtual trade shows, all of which are crucial to large enterprises.”

He continues: “As a company that prides itself on its streaming services, we recognised the value of partnering with a company whose CDN solution could deliver a standout quality of experience for global viewers. Based on their reputation, experience in the market, customer service and cutting edge technology, we immediately saw the value in partnering with Akamai.”

Founded in 1998 and with a presence in more than 135 countries, Akamai operates a global network of 325,000 servers and rents out capacity to customers who require their websites to work faster by distributing content from locations near the user. The company’s CDN solutions provide a seamless web experience to its end users and have been embraced by a wide range of businesses.

Jan Vogels, Project Manager at Kinly Rental, says: "We are very satisfied with Quickchannel’s new global CDN solution. Now we can stream to more people in the highest quality possible with their internetspeed."

Lars Engdahl, Regional Sales Director at Akamai Technologies, says: “As more businesses continue to migrate online, content providers face an increasing array of challenges, such as delivery of different types of content, adjusting content for different types of devices, as well as securing data. The inherent capabilities of a content delivery network mean that Akamai is well positioned to help businesses such as Quickchannel overcome these diverse challenges when it comes to media delivery.”

Viktor concludes: “We are very pleased with our choice of partner and we’re confident that Akamai’s CDN offering will play a crucial role in helping our customers to scale their live streamed events on a truly global scale.”

Quickchannel can now help customers with both CDN through Akamai or eCDN through an existing solution.
